Hands down one of the best looking 5th gens in existence!

That combo was my second choice but was in love with black and I had never seen the IOM in person...I should have waited.
Now I wish I would have went with your combo...black is such a PITA to keep looking good.

Ive got the marker lights and back up lights blacked out along with the tail lights. Ive also got the bowties black. THe only thing that could make my car look better IMO would be the IOM color LOL. I am still undecided on the heritage grill...but it looks great on your car...not sure it would stand out/look as good on black. Oh and I am also going to get my wheels chromed eventually if I dont see some aftermarket rims I like as much as the stockers.

Thanks man.....I wanted a black one as well, but my buddy bought a black one first. I ended up going with the orange, which worked out well. He's got the heritage grille on his, I'll grab some shots of his car and post them up for ya...he's also got flat black stripes on it. I looked and looked at aftermarket wheels and I just didn't see anything I liked as well as the factory wheel. The chrome wheels really POP.

Yeah some pics would be great. I also have had the flat black stripes cross my mind and have seen them...I just really need to see something in person first before I can pull the trigger usually. It is hard for me to get completely sold on pics alone.

I am also contemplating removing the front and rear bowties and replacing them with the SLP old school looking SS emblems in the front and the rear. I am just so picky when it comes to the styling and I dont want to stray too far from the original/clean look. I am a big fan of keeping it simple and tasteful. Big *** wings etc are for ricers IMO

Also...who chromed your rims? You can barely tell in the pics that the center caps are not chromed...is this a big deal in person? I have the small bowties black in my center caps and may keep them their for something different if I dont have the center caps chromed and it looks good. Would be something different for sure.

I am with you on the rims...the stock rims are sweet as hell...they just need to be chrome...especially for a black car. Clean black car + nice chrome rims= perfect. My only other complaint is I wish they came in 20x9 in the front and 20x10 in the rear so I could run a 275 front and 315 rear tire combo...this is the last thing holding me back form chroming the stockers.....but im losing my patience. having the stockers widened and then running a spacer is just kind of a half assed way of doing it IMO so thats not an option.

I just went through his album on Facebook...his photo taking skills are not that good...I'll get some good shots of his car this weekend so you can at least get a better idea of what he's got going on.

I went back and forth on all the bowties and badges as well, before I ended up pulling all the badging off, and painting the bowties to match the car. It ended up being very clean and tastefull.

The local guy out there sends them out to California for chroming....they do an excellent job. As far as the center caps go, leaving them unchromed actually adds some good contrast to the chrome. It keeps the wheel from looking overdone...again, simple and tastefull.

You and I think think alot alike....I wanted to widen the wheels as well....but running on spacers isn't what I consider to be a good idea. I'll learn to work with what GM provided me with!

Very nice, the lowering really helps the look of the car. Nice suttle touches
