Agreed. I think a few individuals saw the 5th gen as an opportunity to cash in and they're taking advantage of forum members that, for some reason, 100% trust what they're being told because so and so is a vendor/parts peddler.
Equally sad is that the vast majority of members over there feed each misinformation because they don't know any better.

There is a reason why my 2011 ss is at Race Proven Motorsports right now getting a 427lsx combo. Let's just say "I learned my lesson at a shop up in the NE area".

Thank you,

Paul

Quite the gem I found here. Had to read this whole thing from Post #1. While I have absolutely 0 experience with C5, but I've had a run ins with Ted in the past.

I've dealt with Ted 10+ years ago when I had an 86 Monte Carlo SS. I did a carb swap on it and was on the hunt for a throttle/tv cable bracket for it. He said he had the right one and sold it to me for 60-70 bucks. Few weeks later, found the same part number on Jegs for about half. Strike one.

More recently, I called up asking about a tune on my T/A and told him what I had done, etc. LT1 tuners are diminishing rapidly seeing that he is 15 minutes from my house, I decided to give the ol' second chance. He essentially told me to just pack up my car as is and bring it to his shop and his shop would complete the build. I thought the point of doing your own work was to save on money. At the time, I hadn't even purchased headers and a few other supporting mods yet. He would tune it and I would be on the hook for cost of parts, labor and tuning. He said it was important that he followed through from beginning to end so he could ensure it "was done right." That was my last dealing with them. Got a mail order tune from MadZ28 and it's pretty spot on.

Just my .02

well this is my first time back here in a while. Have the means again and Im getting the itch to get back in a camaro seat. Been a member over at c5 for a while and just looking into all my upgrade options. The amount of nuthugging made me wary so i did a google search and thankfully found this thread about JRE. ill be reading every page.

What's funny is that I just saw someone at the Budwieser car show who was taking their brand new ZL1 there. Talking about his great following on Camaro 5. I don't talk **** about people and their shops so **** it if they want to spend hard earned money without simple research let them

That "great following" on camaro5 is a problem. Not good for fellow enthusiasts, but doesn't seem like its going to change on that site.

If this wasn't the truth you'd think he'd be in here trying to defend himself. Guess he's to busy scamming people and doing crappy work to deal with the truth. Lol
