Default Bone Stock 1LE, track times inside

I took my car out a week and a half ago to Empire Dragway. DA was around 1100ft with a slight head/side wind. The car is a mother****er to launch, lol. I tried a bunch of different methods, even tried launch control which was a wheelhopping joke.

Best run was a 12.991 at 109.40

slip:

A few pics:

Good job. A bud had a 2012 SS he took to a 12.9 @ 110.x bonestock. 1LE's should be good for 12.7 with their better gearing and a 2.00 60'. Is there a list for these crs?

I love how these cars get no respect, everyone thinks a 4th gen is faster stock for stock.

These things flat out fly for all the content and weight.

My A6 went 13.08 on a 2.03 60ft with a just a K/N system 2 weeks ago in 1100 DA.

My friends 2012 M6 went 12.72 on a 2.0x with 2" OBX headers,CAI a stock catback and no tune.

A 1LE really doesn't have better gearing when it's stock. They have 3.91 rear gears but the 1st gear in the transmission is taller. The actual final drive ratio when in 1st is almost identical to a regular M6 SS. The gear spread from 1st-4th is tighter on a 1LE, but a negative of this, is that you have to shift into 4th on a 1LE a few hundred feet from the finish in the 1/4 mile. So the 1LE's shift 3 times while a standard SS M6 only shifts twice.

EDIT: forgot to add that it did go 112mph a few times as well!

I think the problem is they don't respond as well to mods do to their weight......and where the weight is. The first mods for fifgens should not be adding power. It should be reducing the rotating mass issue. Then the car will respond to the added power.

with almost 70lb rear wheels, a 60lb clutch and a heavy driveshaft you can see where they can be improved. It would be easy to remove 100lb~ of rotating out of those cars and it SHOULD BE DONE FIRST.

I went 13.15 bone stock in my 2010 Camaro SS, stock airbox and all. I think I could get a stock 2014 A6 into the 12.9's no problem in good air.

I'm on the fence with what I want to do with this car. Not sure if I want to mod it or not. I'm probably going to wait until I see some accurate pics of the 6th gen Camaro which is due out in 2016. For it to be a 2016 model you'd think there would be prototypes out there right now, but nobody has reported anything that i'm aware of. All I heard was the same rumors that you guys have heard, new platform shedding 200-400lbs and some variation of the LT1 engine. If it is butt-ugly (which I seriously doubt) then maybe I'll do some mods and keep it. Or maybe jump ship and pick up a Shelby GT350. I saw an artist rendering in Motor Trend, and it looked great!

The Gen 6 will be revealed in January at the Detroit Autoshow.

GM keeps secrets better than the government

Believe the weight loss as the ATS is already lighter than a 5th Gen.

Gotta ride that clutch. I was able to get a couple 1.9 60's out of my 2010 on stock Pirellis. I love the 1LE's. That would be the only way I would get back into a 5th gen other than a free Z/28.

Sorry for the slow reply. I tried a few methods. That particular one was a 3k launch. I don't pop the clutch or anything. Just a slight slip and then full engagement maybe 1/4 second later.
