Launching is tricky with these cars, especially on the stock tires.

Yes, this car loves the turns.. you can definitely tell, even on the street. Drag strip is a different story.

I have meth and a heat exchanger with dual electric fans, with 315 nitto drag radials.

Here's a vid of the run. Still learning how to work the gopro, so the sound could be better...but enjoy!

I got the book, made the necessary changes, added dual flux capacitors in series and I'm coming after you tonight. I'll be lining up against you on the Nelson Comp side.

I'm glad it's not just me. Of course I'm not in a ZL1, but bone stock the best I can muster is 8.4 sec with a 2.2 60' @ 92mph. Can't have your cake and eat to, on stock tires anyway.....

Hold up a sec..

ZL1's stock are only running around 12.5 and trapping 115ish? I'm seriously considering getting one as my new (and hopefully last, for a very long time) daily driver. But those times seem slow no? Especially with 305 width tires out back these cars are that hard to get off the line?

My current daily is an M235i xDrive - I love it and it's extremely quick in the corners but it just doesn't compare to the raw power of an LS car in the straightaways and that's what I'm looking to replace.. is the ZL1 not a good choice? I know it's heavy but you figure with 580HP and 305 rear tires it should be trapping a lot more than ~115?

Not trying to troll at all, I think the ZL1 is badass otherwise I wouldn't even consider buying one, just trying to get info

Yup, hard to launch consistently until you figure out the method. Then it's like a clock. Car needs a tune really....but it will still be a very picky approach. Roots blower makes low end torque and burns off tires too.

Gotcha. Does the same apply to the A6 ZL1? I've seen some magazine times putting the A6 quicker than the M6. I'm guessing the A6 is a little easier to 60' ?

I'd be going A6 as there's way too much traffic/congestion in my area.. as a daily an M6 would drive me insane where I live

The A6 can launch hard, you just need good tires that grip. In stock form, this car is not meant for drag racing.

I haven't been able to make it out to the track lately, but i am hoping to add a set of drag wheels and head back out there soon to see what it can do with some traction.

My modified,704whp, ZL1 with stock suspension and an auto pulls 1.36 60' and runs high 9s. Hooks pretty good. I run 17" DRs.
