1st Production Camaro solld at Barrett-Jackson
The 1st production Camaro was just sold to Rick Hendrick for $350,000. All of the money goes to charity just like the 1st production ZR1 last year. I will get pics and video soon.

They showed a silver with black stripes on red and black interior but Rick gets to order his own specs on the first one. The one at the auction was a pre-production i believe. He gets to order whatever color options etc he wants.

You would be correct. I wonder if he will display it at one of his dealerships or race shops. I would love to go to Charlotte and see the 1st production 2010 Camaro.

just so you guys know the ZR1 that was sold last year. is now Jay Lenos. on his site jaylenosgarage.com he shows the vin number ending in 0000001. i dont know what happened but some how jay leno has the first production ZR1. just thought you guys should know since it was brought up above.

Probably not. The big point to buying the first is the VIN. I would think GM could just pull VIN 1 and set it aside or at least stick it in the line once his mind is made up. Just cause it has VIN 1 doesnt mean it has to be the firs off the line does it? Doesnt it just require its the first chassis in exsistance? As long as the chassis rolls off the assembly line its legit. then they can set it aside and let other roll by that have been assembled until Rick makes up his mind on everything.

wether they did or not, i cant see the purpose. If you want the first production car, wouldnt you want it to be production spec? Why have the first one be so vastly different? It kind of defeats the purpose if you ask me. Plus i doubt its going to be driven so a v-6 wouldnt even make much of a difference its just going to sit most of its life. He should never register it, and only drive it when necessary, and take it back there in 50 years. That would be awesome!

Rick Hendrick can drive a ZR1 anytime he wants to because he owns MANY dealerships around the southeast. He bought the first Camaro because the money went to charity.
