God, I want one, but at almost 40k you could also get a practically new 08 vette if speed is your goal. I'm torn though because I think the Camaro looks better. Not that I'll be getting either soon but maybe in a year.

Don't know about that. There is a bone stock LT1 Camaro that a girl runs at Indy ORP and it runs 13.70-80's Bone stock with 110K miles, stock exhaust, cats, air box, etc. All she does is pull the air filter out and let some air out of the tires and adds about 200 lbs of weight to the "trunk". The car hooks and goes. She knows how to launch the car and she knows how to drive it. Most people with the same car would only see about 13.90's or 14.00's.
Like someone said, get some sticky tires under that SS on a good 60 degree day at sea level and I bet you would see some 12.80's with someone in there that knew how to launch and shift it. Less weight and some real bolt on mods and a set of slicks...hmmmm Time will tell.

most LT1's are 14+ second 1/4 mile cars stock. Im sure there will be exceptions with both LT1's and the new camaro's. Its not really fair to compare initial ratings of the new camaro to the best ever seen with LT1's.
