So how much are YOU willing to pay for an 2010 Camaro SS?
Today I visited my local Chevrolet dealer who was to have a 2010 Camaro unveiling this past Wednesday (5/6/09)… the car never showed up so it bombed. It finally showed up a few days ago. I checked it out and damn, it IS way hotter that in any pic you’ve seen! I was anticipating a Mustang looking humdrum type of retro newb but wow, it is a sharp looking car, inside and out. So with that said, the Camaro was a 2SS, NO RS option, Automatic, black on black, sunroof, polished wheels, engine cover and white stripe package for… get this, $50k+!!!!!!!!! What a joke! I asked two salesmen and they said that the dealer had to buy the Camaro from another dealer and was forced to incur the inflated price to the buyer. Now with all due respect to dealers and GM, WTF are they doing to promote GM sales, affordable muscle cars and work their way out of a financial bind? Nothing… the dealers can run amuck and charge what they want to get their profits today. Forget the future, the heritage and the customer, get the revenue now while the getting is somewhat good and GM is still alive. For shame! Beautiful car, sick price and hungery dealers = GM fails us all! Order yours at MSRP, don’t get ripped. GM should be fined for not enforcing stringent MSPR regulations. For 50K, you already know what you could purchase, It certainly would NOT be a Camaro and I’m on my fourth.

Considering my financing company has guaranteed pricing with different car dealers across the US and I got a 1k reduction off MSRP after I put the options I want, no way I would pay for an inflated price. If the dealers won't sell, I'll buy somethin else. No offense to any Chevy lovers out there, I love their sports cars too. However, they don't make any cars that are worth paying MSRP for in my opinion. Ferrari Enzo or Mclaren F1, those are MSRP cars to me. Corvette or Camaro, those are the ones I can have a prayer of ever affording, but not for MSRP. My 2 cents.

Exterior wise I like the sides but not a fan of the front or rear end much. Interior has decent seats and I like the Concole gauges but hate the speedo and tach design and the climate control *****. All in all, it just doesnt get my heart beating like Camaros of the past, a Challanger or GT500 Styling. For the premium dealers are asking on them right now I would go pick up a new GT500.
Because Im not a big fan of the style of the car, I would have to say I would pay 5grand less then windowsticker for a loaded SS with moonroof.

very very badass car. however i will only pay invoice and not a penny more! went to a unveiling party this last sat at norman frede chevrolet. they had 2 lt v6 camaros there. even in that trim they were still sharp looking. very nice interiors but the seats didnt feel quite as supportive as my 2002 trans am seats i have in the 93 .

I'm not a fan of buying new, part of which is because I don't make very much to begin with.... I'd wait for a used, probably 2nd year model so they can work all the kinks out (battery cable recall comes to mind) and save a huge chunk of money for the same amount of car. I would never pay for "market adjustment" on a new car. I'd pay more for a used car than it was new, IF I know that it was only going to go up in value and nothing else, like a collector's car for instance that was going for cheap.
25k or less, any more and it makes it hard to turn away a mint condition C5 Z06 for a 2010+ Camaro SS. also keep in mind that I love the new Camaro SS...

I'm waiting two more years for the lease on my Maxima to be up, by then I expect to pay a couple thousand below MSRP.
There are two things I do have....... brains and patience.

I don't know how many times this has to be said. GM has nothing to do with the markup, you CAN NOT blame anyone but your dealer. GM should be fined? There are laws regarding price fixing dumbass, GM can't tell the dealers what price to sell a car at, that's illegal. Grow up and learn how the free market works, if you don't like it, wait until prices come down. Say it with me morons: GM IS LEGALLY RESTRICTED FROM DOING ANYTHING ABOUT DEALER PRICING

I would pay what MSRP would be for a 2SS/RS. When I built mine was anywhere from like $35-38k depending on color and stripes and stuff so I would pay up to about $40k. I would then pry get some nice wheels and full exhaust and be good for a while.
