Default Should I Mod the Z or save and invest in a 2011 camaro 2SS/RS

So I have some light mods on my 98z if I stay with it I'm probably leaning on doing the widebody conversion offered by 6LE which will be 1 of 1 since no one else wants to do it. And it only takes one person passion to make a dream come true or should I begin to save up for a 2011 model SS/RS. I sat in a LS/RS and I like the new car feeling and every time I see updates on customs happen I get this feeling(every fbody owner has had) and I want one. So I need some help deciding what should I do?

How about save for the 2011 Z28 if that ever comes out

I have strano springs and holllow sway bars that have yet to be installed on the car, which would be sold if I get the new car.

There is a used C6Z06 with 19K miles, Lemans Blue, Perfect for 40K right now on the Corvette Forum. Id go Z06. I love the new Camaro, but the Z06 is vastly underpriced car for it's performance.

I really like the Z06 but it's not the cheapest thing to modify, like for example $1200+\- for LT headers, just the same for exhaust. Me driving the speed limit etc.. It's a whole new catagory, new car it's just a whole new level on it's own. I never driving a vette so I don't know what I'm in for. Decisions decisions

Yes it's higher to modify but weighing in at around 3,100 lbs. 440RWHP stock, huge breaks, corners like crazy! man i am telling you. Take a test drive, you'll be sold. Did i mention starting with a 427?

Sound tempting and i would have to try it out. but I would have to find one in the NYC/tri-state area, otherwise a place where no fbody, or vette is able to open up

Just keep saving your chips and keep an eye on the Corvette Forum For sale section. I imagine in a year or so when your ready to buy (if you save properly and have decent credit to get a loan) that you'll be seeing 06 Z06's still in the low 40K area with low miles. Good luck!

If the C7 comes out by then I'm sure that will help me on the pricing of the Z06. And what also comes to mind when your looking at spending minimum $33-40k over the next few years or just pay insurance once every 6 months. Just a lot to think about and should I be thinking about buying a car right now especially the way the economy is.

Get the new Camaro, but remember you're not investing in it, you're spending money on it.

I will be investing in it until i pay it off, then I'll be spending money on it after it paid for. I had the chance to sit in the new camaro turned it on rev it slightly but it was the v6 model not the v8 In NY everyone need an auto. So that was there main shipment all the SS's are ordered so I cant touch those. And for those that want to order @ msrp without that markup bs other places give NYC a place to check

Look at it this way, GM teased us with a concept in 2006. Transformers introducing the car a major plus in marketing. Ever since we been peeing our pants off wanting one, 10,000+. Finally 2009 our dream came through, I am sure that GM will bust there *** to get that manditory 35mpg cafe bs by 2014, bankrupt and all.

I'd mod your car instead of buying a new one....

But if you can, get a Z06

Modding the car is fun, but after having 2 heads and cam cars it gets a little old. However it does have its moments.

Once the funds are set, I'm looking into a new camaro. Maybe I'm getting old and my knuckles are beat up enough, who knows.
