Default 500rwhp 2010 SS For Less Than $4,000!!!

Several guys were talking like heads/cam packages cost as much as the maggie supercharger kits so I figured I'd make a post showing how much I have in my 500rwhp heads/cam package.

Here's the mods my car has currently:
Header & Exhaust (TSP Complete System) w/cats
TSP Air Induction
TSP Pulley Kit
TSP Ported LS3 Int & TB
231/236 Camshaft Kit
PRC CNC Port Exchange LS3 Heads

All total your under $4,000 for a 500rwhp package!!

Do you see any gains with OR pipes over catted pipes? I live in a no emissions testing zone.

You're not gonna get anywhere near 700+whp out of a maggie for this price.

I'd also like to hear the installed price.

I could get 500hp out a 03/04 Termi for less than that. Not trying to be a jerk or anything. Seriously. But I don't see how 4k is that cheap for just a 100hp gain?

I know of 2v Mustangs gaining almost 160+ HP from just 2k worth in (used) parts (SS 2010 still would beat it, I know.. but that's not the point)

I am sure the 2010 V8 can be made to gain 100hp for a lot less money? Maybe I am not getting the point here.

Please be gentle..

Well this is referring to REAR WHEEL HP, and the gains are more than 100hp... The LS3 puts out 426 at the FLYWHEEL, and the L99 is 400 so that equates to roughly 370 and 350 to the wheels, respectively. It sounds like a hell of a deal to me, and as soon as I scrape up the extra cash I will be ordering the whole kit. As long as you have the means to get the car 2 feet off the ground almost anyone can install headers and exhaust, and I plan to do the heads and cam myself too and just take it to the tuner. Should be around $500 for a full dyno tune...

Install all depends on what mods are already installed on the car. The exhaust install is $450, the heads, cam, intake, pulley, induction install is $1400.

Wow you're dumb, stick to fords son.

Nice gains TSP, the 2010 camaro **** is more expensive in general, 4k isn't bad for 500 @ the wheels.

the op is talking about REAR wheel hp you ******* or don't you know the difference.

So the op is talking about going from 426 Flywheel hp to over 500 Rear wheel hp. Get it!

Maybe you should stick to the newbie forum.

If you want bang for the buck, put a nitrous kit on it and hit it with 200. That's gonna get you WAY more then the maggie will or a h/c will for sure.

But you have the bottle filling, maintenance with the nitrous stuff etc. so it's probably a wash. You could however, for about 2 grand add at least 200 rwhp to the car fwiw.

That's very cool Jason, I'm very interested in doing your h/c/i/exhaust package for when I get a 2010 Camaro SS.

I bought a $50 88 Rx7 and could build a small block with a nitrous system for $4000 total and beat your cobra. whats your point?

And this is NA. And any retard can get 500hp out of an 03/04 Cobra. Show me where a 2v gained 160hp NA.

And the SS beaing faster than a 2v is the point. Last time I went to a 1/4 track there was a nice 04 Cobra that dyno 460 wheel and couldnt break a 12.3, yet there was a cam only ls1 running 11s. Did the LS1 not beat the Cobra since it took less money and parts?

Im curious what your cost/benefit criteria are?

$4k for a 500rwhp engine that will not suffer from heat soak and added weight (especially when the weight is up front and high) looks like one HELL of a good cost/benefit performance option to me.

Sure the KB can make more power, but it comes with more weight and cooling/heat soak issues.

What are most considering the "safe limit" of the LS3 these days?
