Default ls3 block bore.. how far can I bore it?

I bought a block with a score in the cylinder due to swallowing a valve. I think .040 should clean it up. So, can I safely bore the block that far?

thanks.

I don't think so, you can't do much more than a clean up because of the liners.

We go .015" all the time without issues, but haven't tried .040". My gut says that won't be a good situation!

ok, I just wanted to make sure. I did a little research from previous posts but wanted to see if anyone went over that limit.

It was really cheap anyway and I could maybe make a coffee table out of it. hehe

Thanks!!
