Default Katech 2010 Camaro head/cam package

We just wrapped up this beautiful black 2010 Camaro SS with our LS3 head/cam package. We also used the car for a couple of new development items such as our heater hose relocation kit.

The package includes:

PSI single beehive springs
Katech titanium retainers
Katech C5-R timing chain
Trend pushrods
WCCH ported LS3 heads
Serialized plaque

531hp/479tq

Additionally, this car got:
Halltech Yellow Jacket Camaro intake system, painted black with red lettering
Katech aluminum valve covers powdercoated black
Katech coil relocation kit
Katech billet belt tensioner
Katech heater hose relocation kit
Katech fuel line
Katech evap line
katech windshield banner

Previously equipped:
Headers
Corsa mufflerrs

And customer recently added an intake manifold cover which looks nice with the black valve covers.

Nice package. Broad power curve. Probably be in the 450-460 rwhp range on a chassis dyno I'd expect which is STOUT!

That's exactly what it made on our Mustang dyno.

so 531 was at the engine, not wheels? u actually pulled the engine and put it on a dyno?? thats not that good then, u barely added 100hp with all those mods... 426 to 531, 105...

Yes, we validated this cam package on the engine dyno.

100hp from intake/exhaust/mild cam/heads is pretty typical in reality. What did you expect? 531rwhp? 600hp at the crank? 174hp from just those mods? Maybe on the internet, but not in reality.

My N/A LS3 got 150whp from H/C/I combo... however.. it took LS7 top end to achieve that.. which at 4.065 bore, didn't come cheap, and lost low rpm power.. with a savage twin carbon clutch and low gears = no fun at stoplights or heavy traffic..

If I was to do it again, I would take the Katech pkg.. good work guys..

Very light clutches can have a big effect on rear wheel power. Even lighter wheels/tires can pick up a lot. I can't stress enough how mild this cam is. If you're looking for something very aggressive there are other cams out there that will probably make more power. This cam was tested in an LS3 cam shootout by GM High Tech Performance magazine and scored consistently well over all categories. http://www.gmhightechperformance.com...son/index.html

The only way for that to be a fair comparison would be if it was done on the same dyno.

True.
Or maybe even a track results comparison at the same track/on the same day.

Which is about in line with what we're making here. +100hp is pretty typical with cam, intake, exhaust and tuning.
