With as much detail as you are putting into this motor are you going to be able to have it all back together by spring?

I am planning to have it all done in April. While I am waiting for my heads to come back I am repainting the the engine compartment and re-wrapping the wiring harness.

Today I received a new product from ARP. They now are making Rocker Arm Studs for LS Engines.

I am going to go the cheap route on the heads when I get around to doing them. GMPP CNC LS3 heads.

I am cleaning up some of the wiring under the hood, re-wrapping and rerouting the harnesses. Also relocating some items. I have sanded down most of the engine compartment and prepped it for paint. The under hood paint from the factory is not that great. It leaves a lot uncovered and is especially noticeable in white.

If you are installing a LS3 into an F-Body there should be no reason to change the rear cover. Front covers are different between L99 and LS3.

Other than turning off the AFM in the computer, I'm assuming that you removed the AFM lifters. Did you do anything else in regards to the oiling system? Also, are you doing the trunion upgrade on your rockers while you have it apart or are you going with something different?

I am upgrading the the trunnions in the rocker arms. The stock arms work well and are light weight. I am keeping the stock L99 oil pump but I did change the oil pan baffle with one from Improved Racing.

Did you remove the AFM oil restrictor (red arrow)? I don't think its a requirement, but I've read were several people have suggested doing this. Thoughts?

I have not heard of removing this piece. Do you have any specific references regarding this?
