Horrible noise - spun bearing?
Long time member over at camaro5...but starting to migrate over here as there seems to be more of an advanced knowledge base. Anyway, heard this terrible noise from the engine (video below)...immediately shut off the engine and towed it to my garage. Oil pressure was extremely low just prior to the loud noise, other than that no noticeable driving issues.
Took heads off and found multiple failed lifters, 1 x broken spring and multiple valve seals torn apart. The cam was a Comp 273 LSR (54-457-11) with all Comp recommended valve train components (was a Jannetty 445 cam package). Though the cam isn't out yet, the lobes have wear, but very minimal, same with the lifters. There was plenty of oil on the valvetrain and cam so I was surprised at the low oil pressure reading.
Oil had some metal shavings but nothing I could feel in my hands. I cut the filter open and didn't notice anything crazy.
Any ideas what this could be? Engine is coming out for full inspection shortly.
Thanks,
Steve

With the valve train wear and destruction you described, it sounds like either too little spring pressure for the RPM, or coil bind. Did you check valve spring coil clearance with a feeler gauge @ max lift when you set it up?
