with the exception of replacing lifters , could you run an Early LS style cam such as a MS3 cam in a later L99 pro's and con's

seen one in a ls3 4 door 07 silverado with a 4l60e and a bullshit 3600 dacco converter snap a 1.5 60', and hit a 12.3x at 109 mph all motor. The intake valves did hit the pistons a tiny amount but then again the heads were milled .020".

just if you were curious what that cam does in a ls3

I'm looking at doing ls3 heads on my ls2 with the MS3 cam. So the valves should clear the heads in stock form, but milling .020" to keep the CR up could cause PTV issues?

Are you wanting to do a converter also? I would look at GPI (gweatny performace innovations) they are real good on VVT cams and also TSP.
