Default Will the 5th gen. Camaro outsell the 4th gen. Camaro and Firebird combined?

Do you think that they will sell over 80,000 5th gen Camaros the first year?

yes, i think they can if they hurry up and get it out before everyone forgets about it. There was a lot of hype about the car in Jan but it's already starting to die down.

In my opinion a large factor of the Camaro, or Challenger's success will be gas prices. We are at $3.20 a gallon here today. Wages in the U.S are not going up like other costs are. I really hope the Camaro sells in large numbers but I feel like if $4.00 a gallon gas is in our future then these types of cars for MOST people are not a reality?

I'm thinking the Camaro will easily sell over 100,000. This is not the engine in a box our 4th gens are. It's going to be a much better, more driver friendly car.

It has to or it will die again. GM has been promising to price it within $200 of the Mustang and if it can deliver on that promise, well, the Camaro will sell 3 times as much as the fourth gens. Everyone knows that GM powertrain is better than Ford and it will be very competitive.

Yes, but lets also hope that the General doesn't just Rely on the namesake of the car to sell itself. IMO, one of the biggest issues with the F-bodies (4th Gens) and the GTO's most recently is the lack of airplay, lack of marketing. Ford and Dodge/Chrysler has bombarded the airwaves for years with commercials for the Mustang and Hemi's.

Lutz said they needed 100k units a year to be feasible. I think we'll see it.

Surely everyone remembers the marketing campaign when the 4th gens debuted. I don't think GM has to worry about selling them.
