A few observations:
The resident Ford guys swore up and down the S550 was going to lose weight - then it didn't and called the GM guys questioning their rhetoric "fanboys." Interesting since an educated person would assume adding IRS would add weight (big surprise, right?).
GM announced weight savings on 6th gen - same Ford guys swore up and down and it wouldn't happen - then it did. Ford guys call out "fanboys" for defending the truth about actual weight savings and then immediately move on to discredit the the drop in weight based on 2010 5th gen performance.
Ford guys bring up Terminator as the demise of the 4th gen. Fanboism at it's finest. The 4th gen dying had nothing to do with Ford at all. A little research and education goes a long way. The St. Therese plant in Quebec had the rights to build all F-bodies for GM. The plant needed a full retool to meet future safety requirements, nevermind performance etc. It was no longer economically feasible to retrofit this plant with an entirely new assembly line, tools, and platform. GM shut down the plant, leveled it and sold the land - this was the only way to cancel the contract with the plant to build all Camaros/Firebirds.
5th gen debuts, out performs the 2010 Mustang GT in every measure - Ford supporters quickly discredit this information by only comparing the 5th gen to Coyote powered Mustangs - 2011 and up but won't include 2012 revised suspension 5th gens in said comparisons or even 1LEs - but alas, the GM guys are the fanboys again.
There you have it, the whole Toy Story

Does anyone actually do this? I'm pretty sure I didn't see that in this thread, maybe I missed it. In any event, that position would be impossible to defend as the engine in question wasn't released in Mustang until the model year *after* F-body was already done. Anyone who supports this ridiculous line of reasoning is obviously too ignorant to even be involved in the conversation.
What is even their argument then? That GM knew what was coming and dropped the F-platform because their highest factory rated SS/Firehawk was only 345hp vs. the 390hp Cobra? If they think this is legitimate reasoning and a typical OEM reaction, then why didn't Ford drop the Mustang in 1998 when they faced an 80hp factory rating deficit between the GT and a base Z28?

Agreed RPM, what's even more strange is I haven't seen a base V8 comparison since 2010 (or maybe even then) where a base GT takes on a base 1SS after the 2012 suspension revision. Surely it's relevant since the 2010's SS performance seems to be the benchmark 5.0 Fanboys are always using, but won't acknowledge 2012+ SS performance figures. Just a very recurring theme here on tech.
Boss vs 1LE could be compared. Although the only comparison I've ever see was a 2012 boss vs a 2010 camaro. Thankfully c/d lightning lap at vir can fix the boss vs 1LE. Furd fans may want to overlook those results.

Lol....good post nw.
Oh the furd crew does it all the time on here.
I would love to see base v8 cars compared to. There was also a failure to compare 2012 ZL1 to 2012 gt500. Furd crew would not like those results so they got skipped.

It has been 5 years and now GM is finally back on top. So now lets see how or even if Ford responds.

Umm, no. Remember 2010? That was only 5 years ago and the Camaro SS was rated at 400+ HP where the 2010 Mustang GT was still the 300 HP 4.6 3V. So it hasn't been 13+ years but nice try.
