Some will tell you to do a search, but the correct answer is 350 at the crank. (factory rated)

Yea since search doesnt work you obviously cant do that. To the wheels you will put down probably around 300-310 bone stock. So do the math from that

I Would say give or take a few 340-360 HP.Just to go off my last 02 SS dynoed 302 rwhp w/ the a4 so crank HP would be around 360hp.

How come mine dynoed at a mere 286 rwhp and 301 rwtq? I have a flowmaster catback and I know they are a little restrictive but only that much hp?

Flowmasters are better than stock but not as good as other aftermarket of the same cost.

Is it a 2.73'd auto? Might've smacked the speed limiter before getting to it's peak. Mine did that. The power isn't terrible, but that torque isn't too snazzy.

Care to give us some info? What kind of dyno? What altitude? Transmission? Mods? With 109k miles is your car tuned up (plugs, wires, seafoam possibly?)?

The dyno was dynojet I believe and I'm not sure of the altitude (nothing to crazy, its only in Carlisle PA). It's an A4 with nothing but a flowmaster catback. It's got 3.23 gears and I know it didnt hit the speed limiter because I've had the car up to 135 (only once, don't like to hurt my baby ). If I did a tune-up with seafoam, plugs, wires ect, could I really expect getting back to the 300HP mark? That's like gaining about 15 HP right there just with a minor tune up.

Sounds very possible to me...especially if a needed oil change is done.

it depends....if its out of a WS6 or SS its instantly got about 100 hp more according to some on this site. We seem to view the Z28 and T/A as garbage because GM didn't give them a composite hood and some badging.

Do we really need to go into the underated numbers? I probably shouldn't have put that in there, but for argument's sake it was actually 310-325.

In 2002, the Formula, Trans Am, and Z28 were rated at 310.
The WS6 and SS got 325.
The SLP SS option got 345.
The Corvette got 350, and since there's no difference between an LS1 out of a C5 or an F-body, as far as I'm concerned the most accurate factory rating for a 2002 LS1 is 350 hp.

I think it should be pointed out.

That if you took one 2002 factory LS1 engine block and put it on an engine dyno with a:

* stock Z28, Formula and Trans Am intake and exhaust it would dyno 310.

* then remove that intake and exhaust and put on the SS and WS6 stuff (again on the exact same engine) the numbers would be 325.

* then remove the SS and trans Am stuff and put on the SLP option parts (again on the exact same engine) the dyno would jump to 345.

* Finally do it on the same engine with the corvette intake and exshaust stuff including the ECU with stock program another increase would be recorded to 350 on the same engine block!

So on the exact same engine block, cam, injectors, intake manifold, ect.... changes in air intake, exhaust parts and ECU programming would give the published numbers.

This is exactly why we modify and tune cars and get better performance

Sorry my bad

No.
This is what GM advertised but real world figures showed otherwise. All the engines would dyno 345hp to the flywheel.
If some LS1 cars made 310hp to the flywheel then they would have the most efficient drivetrain in the world with a 0-5% loss to the wheels because most will dyno 300-310 to the wheels.
