Another s10 v8

Well hello there, new to the forum, gonna get right to it

Im doing a swap in my 99 s10 2.2, was thinking about 4.8 or 5.3.
First off, what do i do about computer and wiring harness, can somebody make one for me, do I do the wiring??
second. what about the rear end, i got some donors available, 4.3 S10 for instance. older 5.0 mustangs.
mounts - worst comes to worst I can make some, but does anyone make em.

*COLUMN SHIFT* I want to be able to make the stock column shift work any ideas.

These are my questions, if you have answers pleas help, if im at the wrong forum lemme know thanks...

go to www.currentperformance.com and they will hook you up with everything. And as for the rear, i have a 8.5 rear out of a 02 s10blazer ....came with 3.42 gears and mine was a gu6, no posi, but they come with posi. Should be powerful enough for a slightly modded motor. Any other question let me know.

I plan on using this truck every day as i do now. i want to keep the stock height on the truck maybe a little stiffer stuff also, this truck is loaded up. heated mirrors, power locks doors everything even abs.....which leads me to the next question


1. will my accessories work with engine swap
2. what about mounts any good cheap sites

i did an ls1 t56 swap in my 03 xtreme. currentperformance or speartech are both good places for the wiring. carshopinc mounts worked great in my truck. The sanderson headers work but arent very nice IMO, and they limit your power capabilities. i used all the vette accessories, i believe the truck stuff works too. LS1 f-body accessories dont fit as the alternator hits the powersteering box. you will need to notch your frame for the a/c. i ran the 08 hummer H3 oil pan setup, cleared my stock k-member so i didnt have to notch for the pan, i would recommend that for your application too! that should be more than enough to get you started.

ok bought a ls1 80k miles $900, considering the swap i want to now go with a 6 speed, for reason still unknown to me

-1 - what tranny should i use?
-2 - Hydraulic or manual clutching?

help is greatly appreciated
