Default Lightning strike makes Trans Am beep

So I live in North Carolina and we had some bad thunder storms this morning and unfortunately my 98 trans am lives outside because the 67 and 78 firebirds are in the garage. Anyways when there is a real close ligtning strike to the house (not right next to it but) it makes the trans am do two beeps like when locking the doors or the alarm going off. I've noticed this happen three times, once this morning and twice from another storm. It seems to happen right after the lightning strike and not from the thunder. Don't believe the sensor in the back has ever been adjusted and even if it has I would think the crack of thunder would make it beep and not just the lightning strike. Maybe sometype of electromagnetic waves (have no idea if thats possible). Not looking for a fix just thought it was weird and wondered if anyone else had experienced it???

Yeah mine has done it also. It has to be something with the lightning or just a bad thunderstorm rocking the car cause it hailed here the other day and it never made a sound. Just glad the majority of the car is plastic and fiberglass.

Mine does it if a loud *** Harley goes flying through my neighborhood or if a really loud car parked next to me starts up.

Its your sensitivity sensor on your factory alarm system. Its probably just set too high and is beeping at every vibration. I believe the **** for the sensitivity adjuster is in the spare tire compartment. I know its in the rear of the car under a panel but dont remember where.

EDIT> I found it. Go here and Ctrl+F and search for "Shock Sensor". It will show you the rest http://www.lastofthebreed.com/Servic...99firebird.pdf

I had to drive in that storm this morning on the way to work. Very stressful...trying to keep my car from hydroplaning off the road cause it was flooding haha.
