Default Saying Goodbye to the LS1 world.... for now

Been having by far way to many issues with my trans am, so i decided to get rid of it before i have to dump any more money into it. I ended up buying a 04 acura rsx type s to play with and have for reliable transportation in the mean time.. once i actually work up some extra cash with this crap economy i will buy another TA, after all i did get the tattoo lol. so i will check in from time to time but for now, i relocated to the clubrsx forums

Damm man what kinda problems were you having? Sucks to see you trade it for a Acura but I wouldnt mind having a RSX type S, they seem like fun cars. Good luck getting in another TA soon! And when you do it will seem ALOT faster after driving that 4 banger for a while!

Sorry to hear about your loss.

And REALLY sorry to hear about the acura infestation in your life. Nobody should have to live through that.

You can make a RSX fast, you just don't look as good doing it.

My manager had a 12 second RSX but...the front axle was about to take a dump, so he sold it. haha

also sorry for your loss. hope you told the new owner what they're in for.
the most important supporting mod for putting down power in these things is a big enough wallet. otherwise, sad to admit, sporty econobox is probably the smartest compromise.

I couldn't disagree more. I think the best compromise would be getting a well cared for LS1 car and just leaving it stock. You'll have a super reliable 13.5 or better car that won't let you down so long as you pratice decent maintenance, and IMO be a lot more fun than a "sporty econobox". I'm at nearly 100k on my '02 car, and the only parts on the whole car that aren't assembly line original (other than normal wear items) is the alternator and water pump (and both of these made it to 80k and 90k, respectively).

sorry to hear about the RSX... you'll eventually come to a realization what a stupid, idiotic, moronic, ignorant, retarded, dumb *** mistake you made

Ive been in your shoes, but every time I get on it and smile I honestly know I would never unload it..plus the car is no financial burden(unless im saving for new mods ). Enjoy the rsx, to each is own.

stock fbody?? your utopian dream of a world filled with stock fbodies for the masses sounds great in theory... but few people can actually keep these things stock or resist the urge to do things like 5,000RPM clutch dumps on sticky tires. you would need something gutless to get away from all that. hell, most people with stock fbodies have modded fbodies (or better) to keep themselves sane.
personally, if i ever got rid of my fbody and stepped into a honda, it would be just be one element in the same nightmare where i'm getting it on with richard simmons.
i'm just trying to be open minded here and show some sympathy for a guy who may not see such things as a nightmare. be advised i'm not saying that hondas or richard simmons are gay (even if they were gay, there'd be nothing wrong with that).

well after having so many electrical issues and can never find the damn things.. and going thru 4 transmissions.. overall the car is in a fair shape.. its beat to hell and i bought it in a somewhat decent condition.. the tranny is trashed in it and im honestly tired of screwing with it. i hate to let it go after dumping nearly 14k into it but hey.. its for the better right now till i just probably end up buying a shell and dropping the 416 ls3 i had planned for it

It doesn't matter what type of car you have... once the mod bug hits you it gets expensive.

And I mean come on Texas guys don't drive Acura's... lol

It's called self control. If you can't afford to break it, then don't push the car to it's limits every time you get behind the wheel, keep up on the maintenance, and limit the mods to an air lid & catback.

And my "utopian dream world" isn't such a dream at all. GM filled the world with 10s of thousands of these cars in reliable stock form. What happens after that is strictly up to the owners.

I love when people buy imports for something reliable, after they sell their fbody.

Not to count how much more reliable they are, they are 1/4 the price to fix if something does break.

I love imports. Greatest thing I ever did was buy a base model sub 90hp honda civic and pledged to keep it stock. 32mpg, change the oil, never look back.
