L76 vs LY6 Gen IV engine which would you choose??
Going for another LS swap. This time into my 1970 442 clone.
I'm stuck on this right now, so figured I'd ask the pro's.
Mainly looking for a pro-touring build. T56 behind it.
Take a vote, and list why you'd choose either one.
From what I can tell, the MAIN differences are
L76 = aluminum block, car intake + injectors (saves $$$).
LY6 = iron block (stronger) but truck intake + injectors (gotta replace)
I'm not exactly sure what intake they use on the L76 truck versions tho.
Both use the infamous L92 heads.
Ly6 how lower compression for using lower octane gas and boost.
Still trying to figure out if the Edelbrock SS headers will work on these.

Just to clear something up. A lot of people make it seem like the iron blocks are really that much stronger unless you plan on building a 1000hp/tq car of course. To me the best bet would be is to buy the L76 from a truck, and then swap on a fast intake, and a cam and be right at or below 500 and save the 78lbs since you went aluminum.
