Default Picking up a salvage LY6, quick question on damage??

Picking up a 2008 LY6 that was from a Silverado 2500.
Only catch is the battery got shoved into the head in the wreck and damaged
the valve cover a little bit. After starting it the guy realized it has "ticking"
and came to the conclusion there's a bent valve in the head.

I'm just curious if anyone has any suggestions on what else I should check out.
I'm not an engine builder so I'm not exactly sure what else I should check.

I'm just wondering how a valve that sits down INSIDE the head got bent without
damaging the rocker or spring or anything else, but I don't know that's why I'm
asking here. Figured maybe someone can enlighten me.

Also , any ideas on costs to repair something like that ?? Shop or DIY ??
Wasn't sure if I could just buy 1 valve and 1 valve seat so was debating it.
Not sure what Speed Inc would charge just yet. (Chicago area)

I was under the impression LS3 heads only difference has hollow valves
on either the intake or exhaust, is it worth the upgrade for a car under 500hp??

probably what the guy heard, was the rocker arms doing their thing...the valve cover dramatically muffles the sound of the rockers, and if it was damaged, he probably heard that.

the only difference in the L92/L76 heads, which im pretty sure thats what the LY6 has, and the LS3 heads is the intake valve. the LS3 has hollow stem intakes. L92/L76 has solid stem intake valves.

They've been replaced with new valve covers once he picked it up.
So I don't think it was that.

Speed Inc has a contractor they referred me to that said $150 to go through 1 head.
Just trying to see if I can find prices for guys that need work that know what they're doing.

Up in Milwaukee it's alot cheaper which is where I'm looking to pick it up.

I have had several of the 5.3 and 6.0 and all of them eventually had lifters that would tick until they warmed up. Not saying that is what it is but just something to think about.
