whats the difference bet ls-2 6.0 & ls-26.0 marine

Default whats the difference bet ls-2 6.0 & ls-26.0 marine

seriously ive got a ls-2 6.0 i my mustang and i run across a new lq9 6.0 motor but it a marine appl. what s the differance in the two? please help

Water pump will be different to sustain raw water usage ( prevents rust ), connections will have different seals possibly. Cam will be different as boats use a much lower rpm range than cars.

what do i have to do to use it i know i can put a new cam in it. will i be able to bolt on a stock water pump?

The LQ9 is not an LS2 it's an LQ9. The LQ9 block is iron and the LS2 block is alluminum. Also the knock sensors, vally cover, cam sensor and cover and a few other things are all different between the 2 blocks. If you have an LS2 block in your car now you will have to change out a bunch of crap to go with a LQ9 block. Might be worth just buying another LS2 block and useing it..
