Default Lpe 358...

Found this on LSXTV..

0_o... 358 looks like it's going to see a LOT of boost! Look at the size of the frickin exhaust ports! And the exhaust bolt pattern on the heads looks different. Flat crank too.. I can't wait to hear this thing!

^ I'm wondering myself. Was wondering if LPE was going to post the build in the Gen IV section.

Only real power advantage to the single plane V8 crank is exhaust tuning, another benefit is reduced counterweight mass resulting in faster acceleration. The downside to the flat crank is 2nd order harmonics which is exaggerated with long strokes and shorter rod lengths.

As a huge fan of flat plane/single plane/180 degree V8 cranks, I spent years researching them with intention of building one, recently had the Lingenfelter Pro Stock Truck crank mentioned in that article in my possession, (sold to fund LSx powered BMW, currently on the road with future goal of single plane LSx) pics of it below, (gorgeous piece). Any how, for those wanting more details on the single plane plane V8 crank, here is all my research, warning, it is very lengthy.
