260-340 miles per tank ok?

Let's see, driving from Gainesville, FL to Knoxville, TN (roughly 560 miles) I filled up twice, and rolled into the western edge of town on fumes. I was a little disappointed since a have a Frost tune, and all maintenance items kept relatively new.
I do still get black crude in the exhaust tip, and the occasional half-backfire when decelerating. I wonder if I should get in touch with Frost?

Keep in mind at cruise speeds, it doesn't really matter WHAT is in the tune. Except for first startup and heavy throttle, all fueling is the result of the constantly running final correction. It gets it's feedback solely from the front O2 sensors. The tune can be 10% rich and the PCM will trim -10% to keep it in line. Likewise the tune could be 10% lean and the operation of closed loop fueling control will add 10% back in. '
Properly working O2s are critical for best mileage. They don't necessarily code as they go bad; they wander off first. Past that, any tiny exhaust leaks up line of them or within a foot or so afterwards will also hurt mileage.

It's not really accurate to compare miles per tank, because everyone fills up at a different point. Some fill up as soon as the low fuel light comes on and others drive around with it on for a while. And there's no where to be 100% sure b/c the fuel gauges on these cars are not the greatest. A better comparison is MPG b/c it calculates how much gas was actually used.

That's phenomenal.
My car has trouble starting at 230 miles on a tank because it's so low.
I usually fill up at 199,200. That's about 10-12 gallons though.
totally stock, 100% city driving, in the throttle all the time (ya have to be around here..)

Wow, maybe I get better gas mileage than I thought? Or maybe I'm just nicer to my car than other people?
When I get on the interstate I set my cruise at 70MPH, I never touch it till I hit traffic or need to fill up.
I can get a little over 400 miles out of a tank, all highway driving.

didn't know that display went to 4xx
I took my car on a 300 mile trip, it's the only time I've had it on the interstate since I got it last march. It made it about 200 miles on a half a tank. I GUESS it could have made it to 400, but I find the gauge is weird on this car. I'll be sitting at 1/2 tank at 150, then at 230 I'm having trouble getting it to start without priming the pump because it's below 1/4.

I missed this post earlier and want to give props to Starz T/A 17 for mentioning this.
On the Window Stickers of new vehicles Fuel Efficiency is written in Miles Per Gallon (MPG), not Miles Per Tank. I've never understood how anyone can measure the fuel efficiency of their vehicle by simply noting how many miles you've gone on a tank of fuel. Tanks are not all the same size, even in our 4th Gen F-body Cars, so a measurement like this isn't uniform.
The correct way to check is to write down your odometer reading or reset your Tripometer when you fill up. Then the next time you fill up, take the number of miles you've traveled and divide it by the number of gallons you just put in your tank. This will give you how many Miles Per Gallon your vehicle is traveling. (NOTE: This only works if you Fill-Up your tank each time you Refuel. If you add any fuel between Refills your calculations will be off using this method.)
For example: Lets say you've gone 325 miles since your last fill up and you just refilled your tank with 16.5 Gallons. Take 325 divided by 16.5 and you get 19.7 Miles per Gallon.
Simply saying, "I get about 325 miles per tank", doesn't tell us anything, unless you know how big of a tank you have and how many gallons you put in it to fill it.
Again, for example: Lets say you've gone 325 miles and ran your 10 gallon tank dry. That would give you 32.5 MPG, and that's awesome. But if you've gone 325 miles and ran a 20 gallon tank dry, you only got 16.25 MPG, that's not so good. Not knowing how big your tank is and the number of gallons you put in it makes a big difference on how Fuel Efficient your car really is.
And as mentioned above, Fuel Gauges are not necessarily accurate portrayals of how much fuel is being consumed. So saying, "I got 150 Miles on half a tank." doesn't mean **** if you don't know how many gallons you've actually used.
We all have Cell Phones with Calculators on them. The next time you fill up use it to figure your Miles Per Gallon. That will tell you how Fuel Efficient your LSx really is.
