Default eaton truetrac

Busted the factory posi unit and put in a eaton truetrac and it howls real loud and the driver side tire spins more than the other what is wrong if anything

The howling is most likely your gears (not set up properly?)

Hopefully it's not something with the actual diff because I'm putting one in my car saturday...

Howling would be a bearing issue. Whining is a gear issue.

my bad... ^ thats correct. Searching reviews on google, seems like they're really popular on the mustang and roush forums... they're talked about a lot on 4x4 sites too. I'll find out I suppose, mines going in saturday.

I switched from a locker to a true track and I like it much better. Smooth and quiet.

I run a true track posi and it works well with out a lot of noise.lights up both tires just fine.Not sure if it would hold up to sticky tires,maybe in an auto.

I've got about 150 miles on mine so far, no noise like what you're saying, other than the usual sound of 4.10's lol. Did you replace all of your bearings when you swapped carriers? My old axle bearings made hellacious noise. Sounded like a helicopter was right behind me or something...
