ls1 valve train noise

Default ls1 valve train noise

my 2000 ws6 with 100.000 miles has cam and springs hardened pushrods 7.4, i havent owned the car long and dont know cam spec,it has always had bad valvetrain noise....i know there nosies motors but this is loud. ive pulled the valve covers and none were lose and have not spit there bearings yet so i retorqued all to 22lbs and didnt help, its always there and dont change as it warms up, its real bad from 1200 to like 2500 then the ehxaust is too loud, let me know yalls imput i know its hard to without hearing it.....oh and i know its valve train no low end nocks or fuel ticks, thanks again

These are noisy motors to start with, once you throw a bigger cam, hardened pushrods and headers the noise only gets worse.

As stated above, swapping out to aftermarket rocker arms will help too. i just put some yella terras in and noticed a decrease in noise. As if you have a cam in there already, wouldn't be a bad idea for insurance.

Valve train noise is common specially with larger cams! The valve springs are so aggressive that you are hearing the valves tapping the head!

Check for a header leak at the head.
