Default confussion...need help

ok, i've been reading a little here and there on mods versus power in the 5.3 and 6.0(lq4) and trying to take pricing into consideration as well. i want opinions from you guys, my power goals are 450-500 to the wheels, with good street manors and i dont want some crazy setup that i have to rev teh **** out of to see power. i just want to see a starting point so i can see which engine money is going into. any advicxe would be helpful.

thanks in advance

I haven't done enough research on the 5.3L but if you can find a well priced LQ4, for about 2-3g's total you can easily hit your HP range. Heads/intake/cam/headers should put you there with a good tune. All depends on what deals you can find at the time you go to buy everything, some guys here have done it with less $$.

If it's an M6. You can get a 6.0L at Texas-Speed for around 6k, with a H/C/I, and reach 450 at the wheels.

No replacement for displacement.

What's the motor going in to? If you are swapping in to your LT car, in the long run it's probably going to be cheaper to build an LS1/LS6 that already has the f-body pan, LS6 intake and f-body accessory drive.

As far as I know the L92 heads won't be on your stock LQ4. I know the stock aluminum ones are 317s on the 04, which are prob. the same on any year they used aluminum heads
