Noisy LS6 Have an 04 CTS-V and have a question about a noisy engine, and not in a good way. The car has 106k and I bought it with 90k. The engine has loud ticking sound that I am trying to find out what it is.
At the dealership they said the noise sounded like some piston slap and was normal but was curious if that's what it could be or if there is a common problem/noise with these. I know this is hard to diagnose without hearing it but was just curious if that could be the case. The noise can be described as a noticeable ticking not a knocking noise. Just had a cam installed so ruling out some loose valvetrain. Could it just be piston slap and is it something to worry about? Thanks!
