Default trans am or gto!!

soo looking to get a newer car here in the next couple of months and narrowed it down to either a 1998+ trans am or 2004 GTO (don't think I can really afford a 6.0)

I like them both a lot but for exterior I like the trans am better but I like the GTO interor better than the trans am..so what do you guys think?

i feel the same as FirstYr. Is driving comfort a concern? IRS is pretty nice...but straight line performance there will be more potential in the trans am.

Yes but at some point how fast is fast. If its your dd is low 12's fast enough? High 11's? I just want low 12's consistent in my gto and i know i can get that. If its a drag car or heavy strip car them sure i could absolutely agree with a fbody

Ive owned 2 Fbodies and now a GTO and I have to admit the GTO is better. Yes its a little heavier and parts are more expensive but the interior and overall quality of the car I feel is better on the GTO.

It depends on what is more important to you. I went from a 03 Cobra to a 05 CTS-V. After a few years the fact that it would always be faster and look better didn't matter as much as how comfortable I was driving. The GTO is not better looking and it will always be slower because of the weight and being harder to launch. But it is a better car and the build quality is nice. Drive both cars on the same day, if the f bodies cavalier like inside doesn't bother you then get.

GTO! I would say z28, but that wasn't an option. They are just better quality and retain their resale value better. They don't attract as much attention as a T/A though... Can be good or bad depending on how you look at it. Drive both and get what YOU want.

Your going to get a ton of biased feedback without telling what your looking for out of a car and what your plans/goals are for it.

GTO would make a more comfortable daily driver and all that, but I would still go with the Trans Am. Better looking car in my opinion and I personally like that raw old school muscle feel the F-Body's have compared to cars like the GTO.

then a GTO would be a better choice.

If I were choosing one for a daily driver I'd go with the goat. I've driven both and it's still plenty of fun and will have no problem mopping the floor with the Mustang.
