Question LQ9 cylinder pictures good/bad ?

I bought this LQ9 a couple years back and i guess i let it sit to long. I have a complete ported LS3 top end to put on it now, but when i tore it down,it had rust in the front cylinders. I ran a ball hone through them with my drill and this is what i have now. So what do you think? Just throw some rings at it and go, or new pistons and bore?

I personally wouldn't run it. You could take it to a machine shop and have them hone a few thousandths to make sure it's mirror smooth.

A few thousandths is the same as . 030 or .060. It will require new pistons right?

Yeah a hone is only 3-5 thousandths I think. If I am wrong someone please correct me. At 30 thousandths yes you will need a new piston. If it's only 5 thousandths or less new ring will do it.

you can hone .003 or .030. doesnt matter. But i would reccomend you get a professional hone. It may take .005 or more to get those rust spots out though
