Remove center tail piece on T/A?

Remove center tail piece on T/A? Hey guys, how do u remove that center piece on the tail panel of trans ams? My 2000 T/A's centerpiece is really faded and I wanna take it off and paint it

Pop the hatch and peel back the jute in behind the tail lights. You'll find 5 plastic wing nuts on the back of each light. Simply undo those, and the lights pull right out. Keep a hand on the center section as it just slides onto the studs for the tail lights.
