Help, Lifting up car in the front.

Default Help, Lifting up car in the front.

hey guys just wanted to know how to lift up the front of a fbody(02) WITHOUT MESSING ANYTHING UP WITH THE JACK. Is there a part under the front or side front that i can raise the tires up to take off? and I dont have stands or a lift. any help would be great thanks and god bless

I always use #33 which GM calls crossmember

Yup. Getting to it on a lowered car can be a PITA, but that's where to lift.

on a lowered car,drive the front onto 2x4s or 2x6s or 2x8s first.

Also, if you're going to be working under the car, you really need to get jack stands.

^^ Definitely. Don't get under the car without stands man, that's a shitty way to go out.

I was lifting on the front cross member, the jack slipped and luckily caught the lip on the cross member otherwise it might have gone through the oil pan. If you are jacking from the side watch you don't jack on the lip the the fender is bolted to.

^^for sure ive seen that mistake before. i agree if youre going underneath make sure to get stands

I just need to take tires off, not needing to get under car. with the rear wheels I jacked it up on the side where it felt secure and heavy. thanks for the help and god bless

even though I posted as the 1st response to this thread as using the crossmember,I have on occasion lifted the front with the jack under the most forward area of my SLP subframe connectors.
