Default Trouble Getting in Gear

Car: 2000 trans am ws6 6-speed.
Problem:
I started the car in neutral and was not able to get into a gear with the clutch pushed in. I turned off the car, put it in gear and turned the car on. It seemed to recognize the clutch being pushed in because it didn't lunge forward and I was able to drive home alternating b/t gears but I did not put it in neutral when I came to a full stop. I haven't use it since then but my guess is something is beginning to go out. I'm not as knowledgable about transmissions so I don't know if this could be a problem with flywheel, throw out bearing or clutch cylinder. I checked fluids levels and they seem to be normal. Any suggestions on what the problem may be?

Could have been stopped just right to not allow it to go in gear but I have only had that problem with first gear. Could be the forks going out in the trans. How many miles on the trans?

The transmission has about 90k miles on it.

I'm thinking about taking the time to replace the throw out bearing this weekend and haven't had to do much on this car yet. Can you get the transmission and bell housing off without having to drop the engine?
