Gas cap 9 times out of 10 when you just fill up at a gas station. This is true for most cars on the road, not just ours.

My money is on the gas cap also. My gas was screwed in all the way and I would still get a SES light. It wound up being the cap itself was cracked I replaced it and I've never had a SES light again. Just something to look at OP.

I kept getting a code related to emissions, and I had no idea what was wrong. Buddy of mine looked at my gas cap and the rubber seal on it was dry rotted. Replaced the seal and haven't gotten the code since.

^This. Happened twice to me, first time was just carbon build up from not being driven much. Nothing a bottle of fuel stabilizer and driving it more couldn't fix. Next time my driver side cat failed so I gutted them. Could be an O2 sensor as well.

At least it was easy. It's happened to most of us.

dude just get the car scanned, why guess at what it is.... it is absolutely pointless for us to guess what is causing the problem, when they can tell you exactly what it is after they scan.
