Default LS9-Z06 Questions

Hey Guys, I am a total Noob at all this so I am coming for your help. I have a line on a 2010 Z06 Corvette with the LS9 motor in it for 5000$. the car was totaled but hit in the rear and as far as I can tell there is no damage to the engine at all. So I could pull the motor and get a 20000 dollar motor for 5000. If I buy It I am planning on rebuilding it, but what do you guys think? should I do it? Thanks!

It's a LS7 not LS9. The engine is rigidly attached to the rear mounted transmission and diff. So there could be damage to the motor depending on how hard the hit was. You'd have to really check it over. Yes you could get a complete LS7 for $5K which is a damn good deal if intact.

Maybe it's a Z06 with an LS9 swap?

but what do you guys think? should I do it?
If you're 100% sure that the engine is 100% ok, then yes do it. You can certainly get more than 5k out of the engine and other parts if you plan on parting it out.

Why's that? I've seen Corvette engines in old Volvos, BMWs, Porsches, Audis, Mustangs, Nissans.

So why would a Corvette engine be so unlikely in another Corvette?

ls7 or ls9 is a hell of a deal for 5K!

Give an offer on the transmission, ECU as well!
