Default Driving to tuner after gear swap?

I swapped rear ends and went from a 2.73 gear to a 3.42 gear in an A4 car. I have to get the car about 20 miles to the tuner. I'm wondering if its going to be possible to drive the car there, if i shift manually, without a lot of crazy downshifting going on.

You can drive the car to South America and it won't hurt a thing other then your speedometer won't be correct. Like cj92345 said all that's needed is an inexpensive speedo re-calibration.

I know that's true for a manual, but i thought the shift points needed to be changed on an auto.

The shift points will be off because the speedo is off. You can drive it wherever you want I just wouldn't beat on it.

The computer needs to see the desired shift rpm and mph before it will shift.
