Default which is better? build or restart?

so currently the cars im looking at have either an ls1/6 or ls3. I want to go the boosted route. i.e. tvs2300 or centrifugal sc. would it be more budget friendly to build those or get some sleeves or just an iron block?

yes, street car. i just want to run more boost than what i would be able to do with a stock setup (7psi) and pretty much be a boosted beast on the street.

An iron block would be the cheapest, followed by building your current engine followed by building your current engine around new sleeves.

You would have to talk to a specific engine builder about that, but a forged stock cubed iron block can be had for 3-4k - selling your old stuff. Add 2-3 grand for a resleeved block.

Im sure you can get away with the OEM one with no problems. As far as tranny goes you wont have any issues.

Buy a car with the driveline you want unless you're looking at 4th gen f bodies and want to swap in a gen4 motor. In that case just use a translator to convert the 58x signal to 24x so the stock oem computer can read it, no need to change computers! If you're going with boost then the stock LS1 can easily do 600 rwhp. A friends 02SS with a D1SC, blower cam, LTs, catback and tune made 590hp to the wheels with 9psi and a safe tune. Motor was stock internals and stock heads.
