which direction is the way to go?
looking to venture into the LSX world. No Experience with them to date. Have been around old school small blocks and had a decently quick LT1 for 13 years that I just recently sold. I'm tempted to buy one of those LSX blocks and see if I can build one from scratch but I see a lot of companies offer complete short blocks and wonder if it would be worth it to just get one of those instead of dealing with the learning curve I would experience. What do you seasoned LSX-perts think? Couple of thoughts:
Motor will be for race only looking at 700+ HP
how much cheaper is it to build one vs. buying one already assembled?
any recommendations on who has the best motors (price and quality) if I do decide to go that direction?
what cubic inch would be good to put out that kind of H.P. ...I'm thinking LS7.
Thanks in advance.

I would move your post over to the "internal ls3, ls7" section. More knowledge hanging out there.
Block option aftermarket or gm 6 bolt heads. Iron or aluminum block and if aluminum are you going to sleeve the block.
Lots of good builders out there, watch for the sales, thats what I did.
