Default Rpm guage lagging?

To start off I apologize if this has been discussed befor. Anyways I just got my vrx5 cam swap done so I took it to the track to feel her out and right befor I shifted into third I hit the rev limiter my tack only read 6k when the limiter is set at 6.4k. My question is has anyone else experienced a lazy tach??

I've noticed the same with my T/A. I've got the Torque app on my phone and a OBDII blue tooth adapter, even if the only thing I ever used it for was as a shift light at the track is would be a good deal it only cost me about $30 between the app and the adapter.

Do u think the app would be a better option than just an old school shift light. And how easy is it to install a shift light? Thanks for your help

shift light would be more convenient if you use it very often, but i only go to the track 2 or 3 times a year. I think getting the app is worth it either way if you don't already have a scan tool that's the actual reason I got it so I could read and clear codes, shift light is just a nice bonus. and FYI I use rubber bands to fold my phone to the rear view mirror when I use it as a shift light, kind of getto but works well.

Torque, the app is only about $5 the bluetooth adapter I go off of amazon was the other $25, but I think its only for Android. I think Tuned by Frost sells a reasonably priced shift light you may want to look into that.
