Spindle arm/knuckle
Car is an '01 Firebird Formula. Why are the spindle arms cast iron? I am wanting a shorter spindle arm that links to the upper control arm because my car is very low in the front and it hits the wheel well on hard bumps. Thinking about having a fab shop make me some out of steel. Would this be an issue seeing as how the stock ones are iron?

Cast iron is cheap and pretty strong. Downside is its heavy. There are plenty of companies that make aftermarket replacements in mild steel, however they may not be best suited for a bunch of street driving. Sounds like you're trying to bandaid another problem.
