Don't Mention Mild Cam When Selling WS6?
My car has most bolt-on's, plus a 224/114 LSA cam that's barely detectable to an untrained ear and passes smog. My issue is if mentioning it will lower the value at all, or push away buyers. I know it may be slightly unethical to not mention everything about a car, but I don't think deceptive.
What do you guys think? Mention it or not?

Looking at it from the buyer's point of view - I would definitely like to know about the cam. Most people buying this type of car are enthusiasts, and like to know all the details about a car that they own. I know I certainly do. I don't know if it would devalue the car or not, but I think you have a responsibility as a seller to be upfront with all the facts of the car, whether there's a slight cost to you or not.

I agree with everyone above. I dont think its going to lower youre value to be honest with you it might even raise it depending on the buyer, you should advertise the cam good. Dont only tell them its a mild cam. You obviously have that cam because you want it to be smog legal/streetable etc. That will sweeten up the deal for alot of people.

Do the right thing
I have bought and sold a lot of cars and I always disclose everything I know to the buyer; private or dealer. I believe the good we do always comes back around to us, and the bad we experience will be reconciled by a higher power...

That cam might be mild by today's aftermarket LS1 standards, but compared to the stock cam it's big enough to definitely be noticeable to most people that are at all familiar with these cars. I once had a 221/114 and it was noticeable even with the idle at 950rpm and a quiet SLP 2OTL catback. If the buyer has looked at one or more other examples, or has any LS1 experience at all, they will likely notice the rougher idle and/or higher idle speed. Someone also might just assume that the car isn't running well (a higher and/or rougher idle can often indicate a vacuum leak) if you don't tell them about the cam.
Either way, when it comes to stuff like this you have to ask youself, "would *I* want to know if *I* was the buyer?"

I just tried to buy a car that was 400 miles away from me. I took money out of a 401K, rented a trailer, and drove 200 miles to meet the guy. I knew as soon as I made one pass around the car that i was not going to buy it. He could have saved us both a lot of time and money by disclosing the true condition of the car to me rather than taking pictures in such a way to hide the issues.
So I agree with everyone else.....disclose the cam. You will feel better.

I agree, Im so straight forward with my sale ads that I probably scare potential buyers away but in an effort to save my time, and their time I disclose every possible flaw or mod etc. I have never in my life had the first person come look at a vehicle im selling and not buy it. By the time they are ready to come see it they know exactly what they are gonna see. I expect the same from a seller when I go look at a vehicle but ive been very dissappointed when I show up to see some cars.
