99 6.0 with LS2 or LS6 cam, need help

Default 99 6.0 with LS2 or LS6 cam, need help
What all is needed to put a LS2 or LS6 cam in a 1999 6.0 engine? I am new to this LS stuff. I know i need new springs. How about cam sensors, timing gear, pushrods? I just want to make sure before i start.

I would replace the lifters while you are there everything will match up with ls6 and I think the ls2 don't have the reluctor ring for the rear cam sensor. so you would need the front cam sensor parts.

Is the cam sensor that little plug above the starter? Will the new stuff plug into the existing harness? Any part numbers?

no that is the crank sensor, cam is behind intake where distributor would be on a small block chevy. just seen someone selling a bnib ls6 cam for 110 on other forum im on

Do any of the LS2 or LS6 cams have the rear cam sensor?

the ls6 does the ls2 uses i cam sensor in the front timing cover that reads off the timing gear.
