What can I do to a LS 6.0 motor to get close to 500 hp with out breaking my check book ??

It all depends how big your check book is. One number could be big for someone and small for the other.

You could probably come close to achieving 500hp with a heads/cam and full bolt ons but what are you putting this in? It might not be able to hold up with that kind of power.

I assume you're talking 500 rwhp? If so a very good HCI, or just some nitrous...of course that would be much cheaper as well lol

Heads/cam/intake is going to cost you more than 3k if buying new not to mention you'll need injectors and a tune. I say you buy a good cam/injectors/used fast and spray it.. Easy. 5-550 rwhp

With out breaking out the check book? Well that depends on how much cash you have. It won't be cheap.

Cam $400
Used FAST combo $900
Injectors $250-300
Dyno Tune $350-500
Nitrous $?

Point is at 3k you'll likely have money left over with a nitrous set up

I'm going to put it in a 1500 standard cab truck 2003 2004 models I've got a set of 317 aluminum heads and a iron block I was thinking about stroking to a 408 I may have to go over my budget
