Default 98 knock sensor upgrade question

Ok. I did a search and have read a lot of different things about the knock sensors and the upgrade. The answers to this question were mixed and the threads had a tendency to have come from 4 or more years ago. When you do the upgrade is a tune needed?

No you dont need to do anything with the tune. I have 99+ knock sensors and harness in my 98.

many different things can pull timing. A tune will always benefit a car wether its stock or not, but its not absolutely necessary if youre replacing 98 ks with 99+. I also have 99 knock sensors on my 98 with no tune.
