Default 4l60e to 4l80

Looking at swapping my 1998 trans am 4l60e to a 4l80e ? Anyone here done this give me some info with what you may have had trouble with? And how do you like it not that you did the swap?

is your set up too strong for a built 4l60?

Don't feel like messing with the 4l60e anymore. Just a stock 80 will be enough to hold I believe

The tighter gear ratios often more than make up for it with a reduced ET.

And a 4L80E weighs only 40 lbs more than a 4L60E (178 versus 137):

When my procharged LQ4 gets installed sometime very soon Im going to do this swap also. Im not wanting to waste time or money on the 60e either when a mild rebuild on the 80 will most likely be plenty.
