Default diesel in gas

My son put about 5 gallons of diesel in the car. So I'm thinking drain the tank replace fuel filter. Maybe plugs. Run some fresh gas and seafoam. Does that sound right.

First question comes to mind. How did he get the nozzle in the tank? Diesel fuel nozzles are larger than gasoline fuel ones. 2) Did he top off the tank, or was it just the 5 gal's.?
Drain all you can out, and put some super unleaded in,(10 gallons or so) with Seafoam, or Berrryman's additive. It will probably smoke some, until the diesel is burned up. $0.02

I was just going to ask this same question lol. But fortunately diesel accidently isn't as major as apposed to gasoline in a diesel engine.

Drain the tank, and do as above... Did it actually run at all after the diesel was put in?

Well he was in it listening to the stereo and talking to his girlfriend on his cellphone. Since it was cold out he had the car running and it was getting low on fuel. Since he is grounded from driving because of grades he got the jug out of the shed that was marked diesel and poured it in while it was running. Don't really know why he would think a diesel jug would have gas. But a 16 year boy on phone with girl has too much on his mind

has the car ran till it quit, usually the diesel will foul up the plugs and make them quit, pump the tank dry and fresh fuel and plugs, and if it ran till it quit the converters will likely have a shorter life

Girls: the only thing more powerful than cars....can you blame him?

If you don't want to drain it, some seafoam, or acetone/xylene would dilute the diesel, provided you add more premium on top...still might want to look at the plugs after!

Siphoned most of it out. Looked to be about a 50/50 mix. Filled back up with 93 and seafoam. Ran ruff for a couple minutes. Felt like a year but cleared. Still going to do fuel filter and plugs and I run this tank out just to be sure. Now i have 6 gallons of mix to burn brush with. Lol
