I dropped an LQ4 into my 81 Trans Am last year. Pretty much stock. I went with the Holly swap kits for headers, oil pan and engine and tranny mounts. I used an LS6 intake with car front accessories.

Now I want to start to some power mods, but don't want to go nuts. I have been reading a lot about porting the 317 heads, milling about .030 from them and a new cam to support the flow of the heads. I would like to keep the LS6 intake. What do you guys think about this and what kind of a gain would you expect?

I was considering the L92 heads, but then I would have to do another intake swap.
