new F-body owner 01 camaro SS pewter/black
Hey guys,
Been signed up on here for a long time have had multiple vettes including the new stingray which I currently have.
just scooped up a 1 owner 01 SS in pewter/black leather interior T-tops 6 MT 56k miles.
It has a P4030 code (knew this when I bought it)
I also see that the cats had an extended recall/warranty type of situation online. Does this car still fall in that time frame where I can get it replaced or do I have to try to get my local chevy dealer to good-will it for me.
If none of that works I will probably throw some nice long tubes and high flow cats on it since i was planning that anyway in the long run
also needs 4 tires badly (all dryrotted) so looking into maybe doing a chrome vette wheel/tire package.

^Yup. IIRC, the free cat replacement program was for 12 years from production, so I think you're out of luck anyway.
I got them replaced on my 00, they've came off a month later and have been sitting in my basement ever since. You get to skip that step and go directly to LT's

As stated above, the warranty extension for '00+ cats is long since expired.
High flow cats may continue to trip codes, as they are somewhat different from OE specs, so you might have to disable the SES for these DTCs via a custom tune if you need to pass an OBD scan emissions test. O2 simulators would be another option, but if you're getting LT headers you should really get a tune anyway.

really just want a temporary fix until I do long tubes but would like to have the car inspected.

so I really want to do LT and stuff but dont want to have to do tons of retunes , I also dont want to spend alot at once , I need the sensors to show as ready. Im wondering if I get a spark plug defouler and space out the 02 sensor if it will go as ready enough to pass temporarily (on the bad cat)

You might be able to find some cheap used O2 simulators as fix for now.

drilled it out, threaded them all together and reset the light we shall see...
this is just temporary anyway just getting it ready on the road so i can enjoy it
overall car is in good condition had it up on the lift today.
the power steering line or rack seem to be sweating a little bit
changed the fuel filter and the tires today (old ones were extremely dry rotted)
cleaned all the door jambs out and everything
car has white spots (overspray all over it)
torn between dropping 4-500 for a flex DA kit or getting it detailed for like 150-200 bucks
the SS on both sides are upside down (he had paint work done at some point)
has a few fish eyes on the hood (paint work) some scrapes n stuff

also once im done with maintenance type of stuff I plan on doing
-TSP 1 7/8" LT headers
-TSP high flow cat y-pipe
-SLP loud mouth 1 or 2 exhaust (not sure which yet)
-CAI
-Delete air pump
-replace plugs while headers are out
-replace motor mounts
question on motor mounts .. do I get poly motor mounts (prothane) or do I get solids
then get a dyno tune

Launching!
If you plan on daily driving it I would get prothane or urethane like energy suspension. I have no experience with solid metal mounts but I'm sure the vibration is pretty harsh.
