Default Will aftermarket y-pipe bolt up with stock exhaust?

This is a pretty dumb question, but say I have some headers and a y-pipe I want to install, but still have my stock exhaust on (2002 z28) - will all aftermarket y-pipes be too large of a diameter to fit to my stock cat back?

Thank You!

I thought aftermarket y-pipes would be larger in diameter than the stock exhaust, so it wouldn't flow correctly or something

The I pipe is 2.75 in. and should work with a 3 in. ory.
I run Lt's into a 3 in. ory into stock cat back
Your outlet of your ory will drop to 2.5 inside dia. Making the outside 2.75 in.
2.75 in. is the inside diameter of the stock I pipe and will slide over the outlet of your 3in. ory

This answered my question
